PC Razon When I first saw this unit, I have no doubt second to get it. I do a lot of short films for myself and my family and friends, but I need something to burn it in HD quality video. The AVCHD-DVD is too short and has a small capacity to a DVD-R to make. I've heard good things about Blu-ray and the people are eager to know if the MacBook Pro hardware can handle. Fortunately I have a gift, tried on my Macbook Pro .... VIOLA! It worked! I used Roxio Toast Titanium Pro for recording BD-R with my Macbook Pro on my netbook, the device worked (and I was using Windows XP Pro!). I can read files from the device. The disadvantage of burning files on my netbook for the Blu-ray is that it takes longer to burn them to disc. I never thought it took more than an hour and a half to burn 25 GB BD-R 4x (using the latest software from Nero Burning, I forgot the version number), but still worth it! Gildart I bought this drive specifically for use with one of my Windows-based PCs. It works well with what I had expected, and Windows software included with the drive, is also wonderful and very welcome. I had not expected, however, that with my Macbook 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo to work. My internal optical drive is dying, and while it is relatively easy to use a network drive for installation and material, it is certainly not so easy to go back and forth to the other desk. Documentation and all but one of the reviews were pretty clear that this is not a Mac-friendly product, so I was pleasantly surprised when Mighty MacBook jumped right on that play music CD into the drive. I was even more surprised if there is a DVD burned with the native / Finder / disc-burning program (no third party software to all participants). And I was very happy to know that there was LightScribe free download for Mac, but really did not expect the work of Snow Leopard, but they do. And that plays movies on the DVD player software. I'm not sure if my version of the DVD player is the one that came with my macbook or is it something that came with my hard snow leopard, but the films opening - incredibly fast, as a matter of fact. 38 of 48 people found this review helpful. I literally put it on my MacBook Pro (I had already installed Toast Titanium) and began to Blu-ray burning. It is relatively quick, and so far all discs are played. I used to burn Blu-ray as well as SD recording and copying DVDs. I used it through the fire and USB cable with little difference in speed. It is expensive, but if you have a Blu-Ray for Mac is great. Nice upgrade hard drive from Samsung with Gus Peterson I've always been a fan of Samsung products and ordered this CD as an upgrade for the old DVD-ROM, which I had in my system from MPC Millennia a few years. As always, Amazon has the drive to me is very fast and this is an OEM hard drive, Amazon has in its own box, the best I've seen packaged by their competitors. The drive installed easily and works very well. I have not tried Lightscribe functionality, but I'm sure it will work. Samsung has made a really cool design of this disc. The bezel is very nice looking, much better than just a plain black front. The software supplied with the disc seems very sturdy. I like the BD Advisor, which will basically look at your system and tell you if you runn capable of Blu-Ray are. It's cool, especially for users who may not be as familiar with the various technologies for under $ 100 This is a large hard drive for an upgrade to an older system or for people to build new plants. I'm sure that building a completely new system, the drive will perform for an even higher level than memory and CPU it will bring to the max. Today, the market for blank media has been flooded with cheap disk does not work after a few uses, or even burn properly! I have two versions of Nero (6 and 8) on two different computers, and I noticed that both automatically lower the burn rate to 4 times (if I can pump up to 6X on Nero 6) and if the speed accounts for the fact that "lesser" brands fail more often. I even have a burner on my laptop have hated Sony Core 2 Duo with Nero 8 and it works, despite the extremely slower than a Lite-On drive installed on my old computer AMD64 My only complaint with this product is strange, what attracted me him first: the price. The best customer comments June 6 people found the following review helpful. Works great on my ASUS G50Vt-X5. Wind R. Crow As my title says, I popped this disc in my laptop ASUS G50Vt-X5. The installation was very easy (there is a great video on YouTube Research .. You'll find it.) I removed two screws from the bottom of the notebook, he left my old car, removed the plastic cap and metal tab (with four screws) of the former, put them in the new BD drive, and only slipped slightly. Once the screws were in place that was safe, and Windows 7 is immediately recognized. This plays Blu-ray with the help of some software (not included) added. Cyberlink PowerDVD is the trick, but there are other software packages out there that play Blu-ray. Windows does not natively, however, you will need additional software. All other functions seem fine. It handles DVDs, CDs, and RW too. Burns also CDs, DVDs, DL DVDs and CDs or DVD that does not burn Blu-ray, however, so make sure you're not looking for a Blu-ray when you get this! What else can I say? SATA has made it incredibly easy to install and everything works as advertised. If you want to upgrade a laptop on Blu-ray, it is probably the best deal going. Just make sure your laptop has some serious horsepower, because the low-end computers can not handle reading Blu-ray. You must have a decent CPU, GPU, decent (not a good GMA chip on board), and a decent amount of RAM (by today's standards). If your computer up to that since BD is pretty nice. Installed on a DELL n5010 15R in 15 minutes (had to change the mounting plate and front) will work with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 has played everything as far as Avatar Blu-ray without AnyDVD and burned DVD + R DL. I have burned DVD + R and DVD + R DL without any problems, this album is much slower than the original, or CT21N but worth saving. The issue received was actually CT10L which is the version with LightScribe not CT10N and has black front do not have the LightScribe logo. This is a good deal on the product's manufacturing date is June 20, 2009. It CT21N probably not worth the extra money right now the biggest differences is that it burned blu-ray read and has the fastest read / write speed. It's the best album I've seen on the market at this time. It seems to be compatible with all discs (not even the mountains). The unit is quiet, easy to install (depends on your PC and knowledge of hardware installed), and easy to configure. The software to burn and watch movies is included. My came with a free BD-R to start. Just make sure that your PC has the right hardware to handle HD or the unit is not for you. My brief review from Welly Wu I bought this ASUS SBW-06C1S-U because I already bought a laptop ASUS N61JV-X2 with Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and I subscribe to Netflix, with the possibility of renting Blu-Ray as an additional option . I looked at several other competing manufacturers such as Sony and Buffalo, but I decided to take this ASUS SBW-06C1S-U because of the reputation of the brand. Before you decide to purchase, you must make sure your PC supports HDCP visiting the website and download and install Cyberlink Cyberlink BD & 3D Advisor tool. Run this tool to check if your PC is the standard. To the best of my knowledge, Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium and above support HDCP. This disc comes with an AC adapter and power cord standard, the same drive and high-speed USB 2.0 for a mini. Simply plug in the cord, plug in the USB cable 20 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your computer and let Windows automatically detect and install the appropriate drivers. Then open the tray and place the Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 cd and install the software on your PC for Blu-ray movie playback. The version that is too old. Kinsey I bought three of these Panasonic (MATSHITA) UJ240AS optical drive, the first bought more than a year ago. None of these devices have never failed. It is a fact, not one of them even has hiccup in their activities. The only drawback of these optical drives are the lack of software for playback, but there are many companies out there willing to pamper you with software for playback. You will not be disappointed with BC Smith, I bought LG BE12LU30 because it had the qualities I was looking for an external drive, fast read / write speed for CD, DVD and BD discs from different species. I wanted to print and the ability to be a label on the disc with LightScribe technology. There are not many external Blu-ray drive to rewrite, to choose from, and this after he has just been released in October 2010, was not yet fully tested by end users, but I decided to take a chance on. I was not thrilled with the black and white exterior color scheme, but the device has a solid well built feel. I like the blue read / write activity LED on the front and state that it minimizes the vertical position, the space on the desktop that can be placed. You can use BE12 to your computer via USB 2.0 or eSATA port. I am using the eSATA port for maximum writing speed of 12x using the USB port to drag performance down to 6x. The eSATA connection is capable of 3.000 Mbps to 480 Mbps compared to the USB connection, but the ability to eSATA port is not fully utilized. A short cable is included to convert an internal SATA slot on a motherboard eSATA on the back of a tower computer case. When this software is installed, the utility LabelPrint automatically detects the presence of a LightScribe disc enabled and connected to provide funds to print the label of your design directly onto the front surface of the disk. You have to flip the disc in the tray to print the label, and apparently there is a sensor to detect the presence of a LightScribe disc in the correct position so that it can do no wrong. Unfortunately, only CDs and DVDs are available at this time with the printable surface of LightScribe. I only used a few times BE12 so far on one occasion to write DVD + R media with a LightScribe label, and once BD-R disk. I used Power2Go burns and application in both cases were managed with few accidents. The drive is fairly quiet too. I wrote 820MB of data on DVD + R at 16x for 15 minutes and 15 minutes to LightScribe label printing. I wrote 6.3 GB of data on a BD-R disc in 72 minutes at 12X maximum speed.
